with speaker, author and entrepreneur, Roxanne Emmerich.

Roxanne Emmerich is America’s most sought-after workplace
transformation expert. She is listed by Sales and Marketing
Management magazine as one of the 12 most requested
speakers in the country for her ability to transform
negative workplace performance and environments into “bring
it on” results-oriented cultures.

Roxanne’s new book “Thank God It’s Monday” reached and
maintained its position as #1 on Amazon’s business
bestseller list and made the Wall Street Journal’s
bestseller list - all in the first week of its release. As
President and CEO of the Emmerich Group, Inc. she has
consulted and spoken to most of the financial institutions
in the top one percent of performance. Roxanne was inducted
into the National Speaker Hall of Fame for her impact and
quantifiable effectiveness.

She has also published hundreds of articles in leading
publications on such topics as leadership for results,
employee engagement for bottom AND top-line improvement,
profit-rich growth strategies, and a multitude of other
workplace breakthrough issues.

A three-time Entrepreneur of the Year, Roxanne served
Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson as a key advisor on
reinventing state government and serves as Editor-In-Chief
of Extraordinary Banker® Magazine. She is in demand for
interviews by CNN, NPR, CBS, and other media outlets
nationwide for her proven ability to help workplaces get
unstuck and achieve radically improved results quickly.

Here’s some of what you’ll learn:

1) Why most people end up hating work and how to make
Monday your favorite day of the week

2) The one key change that has turned the most miserable
workers into the most successful and passionate.

3) How being unreasonable can lead to your best outcomes.

4) The secret that causes everyone to “get goosebumps on
their knees,” it’s so good.

5) What to do when you have a “boss from hell” (that’s
much more effective than telling him/her to go to hell).

Title: Arm In Arm
By: Author Unknown

A few years ago at the Seattle Special Olympics, nine
contestants, all physically or mentally disabled, assembled
at the starting line for the 100-yard dash. At the gun,
they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with a
relish to run the race to the finish and win.

All, that is, except one little boy who stumbled on the
asphalt, tumbled over a couple of times, and began to cry.
The other eight heard the boy cry. They slowed down and
looked back. Then they all turned around and went back.
Every one of them.

One girl with Down’s Syndrome bent down and kissed him and
said, “This will make it better.” Then all nine linked arms
and walked together to the finish line. Everyone in the
stadium stood and the cheering went on for several minutes.
People who were there are still telling the story. Why?

Because deep down we know this one thing: What matters in
this life is more than winning for ourselves. What matters
in this life is helping others win, even if it means
slowing down and changing our course.

Wouldn’t you love to enjoy success in all areas of your
life?

Moby - Find Success in Spite of Insecurities
By: Chris Attwood and James Ray

MOBY: I was never really happy with the circumstances in
which I was brought up. I grew up very poor in a really
wealthy town. I also really liked music because it had an
escapist element to it. There was a lot of shame and lot of
pretending that my circumstances were better than they
actually were. I liked music, especially music in the 20th
Century because it really celebrated disenfranchisement. It
was not a celebration of the status quo. If you think of
rock-and-roll, punk rock, and even hip hop, it’s usually
people who feel disenfranchised picking up a guitar, a
synthesizer or what have you, and expressing themselves
through music. Because I felt quite disenfranchised, I
really responded to that aspect of it.

JAMES RAY: When was it that you said, “I’m going to become
a musician?”

Reward Effort - Not Just Outcome
By: Michael Licenblat

People need to feel a sense of accomplishment for the
consistent effort they put in regardless of the outcome.
For example, if you need to contact 50 clients with
enthusiasm, your 47th call needs to emanate the same
enthusiasm as your first call did - even if you have faced
46 replies of ‘no’. This only is achieved if you are
feeling a sense of accomplishment just for making the calls
- regardless of the outcome.

Here are 2 ideas on rewarding effort…

The Midlife Opportunity (Part 1 of 4)
By: L. Barrett Powell

When you reach your late 30s and early 40s, you reach a
significant turning point in life where you are given the
opportunity to release the past and evolve further into
your own authentic self. We commonly call this a crisis.
However a crisis has two components - chaos AND
opportunity. Viewing midlife as an opportunity is the key
to thriving and making it a successful time of life. Having
completed your entrance into adulthood at ages 28-30, you
are now looking at your midlife opportunity, which is
hallmarked by four significant transitions. For each person
the specific phase can occur at different times than for
others.

The four transitions will take you through approximately
ages 36-45. They are…

The Starfish
By: Author Unknown

An old man awoke just before sunrise, as he often did, to
walk by the ocean’s edge and greet the new day. As he moved
through the morning dawn, he focused on a faint, far away
motion.

He saw a youth, bending and reaching and flailing arms,
dancing on the beach, no doubt in celebration of the
perfect day soon to begin. As the old man approached, he
realized that the youth was not dancing to the bay, but
rather bending to sift through the debris left by the
night’s tide, stopping now and then to pick up starfish,
and then standing up to heave it back into the sea.

He asked the youth the purpose of the effort. “The tide
has washed the starfish onto the beach, and they cannot
return to the sea by themselves,” the youth replied. “When
the sun rises, they will die unless I throw them back into
the sea.”

The old man surveyed the vast expanse of beach that
stretched in both directions beyond eyesight. Starfish
littered the shore in numbers beyond calculation. The
hopelessness of the youth’s plan became clear, and the old
man said, “But young man, don’t you realize that there are
more starfish on this beach than you could ever save before
the sun is up? You cannot possibly expect to make a
difference!”

The youth paused briefly to consider the old man’s words.
He then bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it
as far as possible into the sea. Turning to the old man, he
said, “I made a difference to that one!”

Getting to Yes: Uncommon Sense for Parents
By: Kelly Pryde

A few days ago my four-year-old son asked me if he could
do a craft project-I was in the middle of tidying the house
and with visions of glue, construction paper and mess going
through my head, I said “No, honey…not right now.” He very
quickly responded with: “Awww…you always say no! Everyday
you say no!” And with that, he stormed off.

Okay, so I don’t really say “no” to everything! But my
son’s reaction did remind me that it must be really
disheartening for kids to hear the constant barrage of no’s
and directives from parents-don’t touch that; sit down;
drink your milk; do up your coat; use your manners; no…you
can’t do that; ask for help; no…not right now. As my
daughter would say: “Blah, blah, blah!” Can you imagine
what it would be like to live with someone like that?!

Why Getting Published Can Help You Network
By: Ivan Misner

Focus on branding your company and yourself in the
marketplace to enhance your networking efforts.

Recently, an associate of mine who read one of my books
and attended some of my training sessions called me and
said, “I really love your material, but why don’t you put
more emphasis on your ideas about ‘creating your identity
as a brand’ and how it affects your networking efforts?
These ideas have made a huge impact on my business, but I
don’t hear you talking about it very often.”

I admitted that this associate of mine was right. I
haven’t talked a lot about identity in my material, and I
agree that I should say more…

How to Enhance Relationships, Increase Fulfillment &
Empower Yourself by Being Authentic
By: Mike Robbins

Authenticity is about enjoying a new sense of freedom to
be who we really are–ourselves, natural and without a mask
in our relationships, our work, and our life. It takes
courage, commitment, and depth to:

•Look within ourselves
•Tell the whole truth (even when we don’t want to)
•Be vulnerable
•Admit, own, and share our true thoughts, feelings,
desires, insecurities, passions, embarrassment, dreams, and
more.

However, being open and real about all of these things
(and more) is what it means to be authentic in life. Here
are five principles for being your authentic self…

The Splashes Of Life
By: Author Unknown

A Sioux Indian story…

My grandfather took me to the fish pond on the farm when I
was about seven, and he told me to throw a stone into the
water. He told me to watch the circles created by the
stone. Then he asked me to think of myself as that stone
person.

“You may create lots of splashes in your life, but the
waves that come from those splashes will disturb the peace
of all your fellow creatures,” he said.

“Remember that you are responsible for what you put in
your circle, and that circle will also touch many other
circles. You will need to live in a way that allows the
good that comes from your circle to send the peace of that
goodness to others. The splash that comes from anger or
jealousy will send those feelings to other circles. You
are responsible for both.”

That was the first time I realized each person creates the
inner peace or discord that flows out into the world. We
cannot create world peace if we are riddled with inner
conflict, hatred, doubt, or anger. We radiate the feelings
and thoughts that we hold inside, whether we speak them or
not. Whatever is splashing around inside of us is spilling
out into the world, creating beauty or discord with all
other circles of life.

Remember the eternal wisdom: Whatever you focus on
expands.

dramatically your life will change when you’re able to

Carrots, Eggs, & Coffee Beans
By: Author Unknown

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her
life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know
how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was
tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem
was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots
with water. In the first she placed carrots; in the second
she placed eggs; and in the last ground coffee beans. She
let them sit and boil without saying a word. In about
twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the
carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs
out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee
out and placed it in a bowl.

Turning to her daughter, she asked, “Tell me, what do you
see?”

“Carrots, eggs, and coffee,” she replied.

She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots.
The daughter did and noted that they were soft. She then
asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off
the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg. Finally, she
asked her to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she
tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, “What’s the
point, mother?”

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced
the same adversity - boiling water - but each reacted
differently. The carrot went in strong, hard and
unrelenting. However after being subjected to the boiling
water, it softened and became weak.

The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had
protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through
the boiling water, its inside became hardened.

The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they
were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

“Which are you?” she asked her daughter. “When adversity
knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot,
an egg, or a coffee bean?”

Think of this: Which am I? With pain and adversity, do I
wilt and become soft and lose my strength? Am I the egg
that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the
heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a
breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I
become hardened and stiff?

Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter
and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart? Or am I
like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot
water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the
water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor.

If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst
you get better and change the situation around you. When
the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest, do
you elevate to another level? How do you handle Adversity?

Stop Using the Economy as an Excuse!
By: Roberta Chinsky Matuson

Leaders are using the economy as an excuse on a daily
basis. Don’t believe me? Just ask your managers why now
it’s okay to lay-off those employees who haven’t come close
to meeting their performance objectives over the past
several years. Perhaps your company could have avoided lay-
offs if the entire team had been operating on all four
cylinders. This is just one example of how companies are
using the economy as an excuse for poor decisions. Here are

Bend, But Don’t Break
By: Author Unknown

One of my fondest memories as a child is going by the
river and sitting idly on the bank. There I would enjoy the
peace and quiet, watch the water rush downstream, and
listen to the chirps of birds and the rustling of leaves in
the trees.

I would also watch the bamboo trees bend under pressure
from the wind and watch them return gracefully to their
upright or original position after the wind had died down.

When I think about the bamboo tree’s ability to bounce
back or return to its original position, the word
‘resilience’ comes to mind. When used in reference to a
person this word means the ability to readily recover from
shock, depression or any other situation that stretches the
limits of a person’s emotions.

Have you ever felt like you are about to snap? Have you
ever felt like you are at your breaking point? Thankfully,
you have survived the experience to live to talk about it.

During the experience you probably felt a mix of emotions
that threatened your health. You felt emotionally drained,
mentally exhausted and you most likely endured unpleasant
physical symptoms.

Life is a mixture of good times and bad times, happy
moments and unhappy moments. The next time you are
experiencing one of those bad times or unhappy moments that
take you close to your breaking point, bend but don’t
break. Try your best not to let the situation get the best
of you.

A measure of hope will take you through the unpleasant
ordeal. With hope for a better tomorrow or a better
situation, things may not be as bad as they seem to be. The
unpleasant ordeal may be easier to deal with if the end
result is worth having.

If the going gets tough and you are at your breaking
point, show resilience. Like the bamboo tree, bend but
don’t break!

dramatically your life will change when you’re able to

ANY progress yet. What matters is that you quickly learn
to apply the 1-2-3 step system that Jack has created for
you in his latest masterpiece, the Dream Big System. Every
year, Jack Canfield coaches thousands of people to more
fulfilling relationships, greater abundance and overall
bliss.

Jack Canfield - Give Yourself Permission
By: Janet Bray Attwood and Chris Attwood

CHRIS ATTWOOD: Before you go on, Jack, can I ask you a
question about 100% responsibility?

JACK CANFIELD: Please, go ahead.

CHRIS ATTWOOD: There are some people who put a meaning on
responsibility that it’s their fault. Is that another kind
of blaming? What is it that’s going on there, and how does
one take 100% responsibility without feeling, “Oh my gosh!
I’m the one who made myself so miserable, and I can never
get over it”?

JACK CANFIELD: There’s another piece of information you
have to have that I write about later in the book, which is
giving up guilt. If you go to the Law of Attraction,
remember we talk about ‘ask, believe and receive’. I’ve
added, ‘ask, believe, act and receive’. What happens is
this…

The Picture of Success
By: John Carpenter Dealey

One of the life lessons Dr. Norman Vincent Peale taught in
his classic and best selling book, The Power of Positive
Thinking, is: “Formulate and stamp indelibly on your mind a
mental picture of yourself as succeeding. Hold this picture
tenaciously and never permit it to fade. Your mind will
seek to develop this picture!”

What is your picture of success?

Does it mean to have a lot of money? A big house? A happy
family? Good Health? All of us have different ideas about
success, and the great thing about living in this day and
age is that each of us really can have whatever it is we
desire.

Spend a few moments today and write down your picture of
success. Better yet…

Embracing Ideological Difference
By: Alice Gardner

In politics in America for instance, although we of course
remain individuals, many of us classify ourselves as being
Republicans or Democrats. This is one more label (not so
unlike calling ourselves Israelis or Palestinians) with
which we categorize our thinking. Whichever particular
category we choose represents particular sets of ideas
about how things like governments and economies work. In
the present climate of economic downturn, bank failure and
unemployment, the outstanding characteristics of these
categories are differing ideas about what we should do to
set things right.

If we look into both sets of ideas, we can notice that
although these categories of thinking are different one
from another and go on to discount each others points of
view, they also have something in common…

The Dash
By: Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke of the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own,
The cars, the house, the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard;
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
That can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
To consider what’s true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
And more often wear a smile,
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.

So when your eulogy is being read
With your life’s actions to rehash,
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

The American Monk:
Meet Burt Goldman, the 81-year-old man who claims he has
learned to focus his mind in such a way that he’s able to
slow down aging, pick up new skills at will, and maintain
perfect health. He spent over 50 years traveling the world
and studying under the greatest spiritual masters of all
time, some of whom are Paramahansa Yogananda and Jose
Silva. Now Burt is finally ready to share with the modern
world everything he has learned. His message is going to
have a profound effect on how you live your life in the
modern world. I dare say, it could be earth shattering.

Heart Attack Symptoms: Why Are So Many People Using These
Internet Search Words to Find Help?
By: Carolyn Dean

Coronary heart disease (CHD) causes about 1 out of every 5
deaths in the United States and in 2009, according to the
American Heart Association, an estimated 785,000 Americans
will have a new coronary attack, and about 470,000 will
have a recurrent attack.

About every 25 seconds, an American will have a coronary
event, and about every minute someone will die from one.
Why are Americans prone to heart disease and heart attack?

Are Self-Publishing Companies “Cheating” by Removing the
Hurdles to Get Your Books Published Faster?
By: Brent Sampson

In spite of growing evidence that self-publishing is
poised to replace (or at least match) traditional
publishing in the future, many conventionally published
authors (and those striving to become such) still view self-
publishing with contempt. They feel self-publishing
companies and those authors who choose to use them are
“cheating” somehow. After all, getting a book published
traditionally has always been “hard work.” Those who have
done it (or long to) perhaps feel as if self-published
authors are not paying their dues.

But are self-publishing writers really “cheating,” or are
they simply taking advantage of widespread changes taking
place throughout the entertainment and business worlds?

Moving Free® With Mirabai — If I Have Low Bone Mass Does
That Mean Osteoporosis?
By: Mirabai Holland

Nearly 30 years ago when I was in school, I wrote an
exercise physiology paper on exercise and osteoporosis.

At that time there wasn’t much research available. But
even then, the studies I found on tennis players,
astronauts, and bed rest pointed in the direction that
weight-bearing exercise could help maintain the bone
density you have and even promote bone growth. I was
intrigued. I’ve followed the research over the years and
even created an osteoporosis exercise program.

In working with my clients, I often hear the question
“what’s the difference between osteoporosis and low bone
mass? (osteopenia) And what can I do about it?

individuals to create wealth in all areas of their lives:
financially, relationally, intellectually,
physically and spiritually.

Clay Spheres
By: Author Unknown

A man was exploring caves by the seashore. In one of the
caves he found a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay
balls. It was like someone had rolled clay balls and left
them out in the sun to bake. They didn’t look like much,
but they intrigued the man, so he took the bag out of the
cave with him. As he strolled along the beach, he would
throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as
far as he could.

He thought little about it until he dropped one of the
clay balls, and it cracked open on a rock. Inside was a
beautiful, precious stone! Excited, the man started
breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each contained a
similar treasure. He found thousands of dollars worth of
jewels in the 20 or so clay spheres he had left.

Then it struck him. He had been on the beach a long time.
He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the clay balls with their
hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of thousands
of dollars in treasure, he could have taken home tens of
thousands, but he had just thrown it away!

It’s like that with people. We look at someone, maybe even
ourselves, and we see the external clay vessel. It doesn’t
look like much from the outside. It isn’t always beautiful
or sparkling, so we discount it. We see that person as less
important than someone more beautiful, stylish, well-known
or wealthy. But we have not taken the time to find the
treasure hidden inside that person.

There is a treasure in each and every one of us. If we
take the time to get to know that person, the clay begins
to peel away and the brilliant gem begins to shine forth.
May we not come to the end of our lives and find out that
we have thrown away a fortune in friendships because the
gems were hidden in bits of clay and we weren’t willing to
look beyond the clay vessel.

For over three decades, Burt Goldman has been forced to
keep a secret. This secret has laid both the foundations of
all his personal successes, and also the successes of every
single person he’s revealed it to. This secret is so
unbelievably controversial that Burt doubted the world
could handle it… until now. The secret is a technique
called Quantum Jumping. This technique is so immensely
effective that it will give anyone, and I mean anyone, the
ability to accomplish any goal, master any skill, and
manifest endless abundance, health and happiness. Think you
can handle it? Go here to find out:

28 Days To Change A Habit
By: Jon Rhodes

In this article I will show you a simple, but incredibly
powerful method of making permanent changes to your habits.

It is widely accepted by physiologists that generally it
takes about 28 days to change a habit. This means that you
must live consciously for 4 weeks, deliberately focusing on
the changes that you wish to make. After the 4 weeks are
up, the change is permanent. Great!

The change of habit can be anything from quitting eating
chips, being more motivated, waking up earlier, or even
being more generous. If you consciously and stubbornly do
these things for 4 weeks, then it will become more
automatic from then on. It really is that simple.

What puts most people off making changes in their lives
is…

Become a Networking Mentor
By: Ivan Misner

Can you remember someone who selflessly shared his wealth
of knowledge and experience with you to help you succeed?
Mentors come to us disguised as parents, coaches, teachers,
colleagues, supervisors, and friends. Mentors share with us
what they’ve learned in order to help us avoid making the
same mistakes they made. They support us through our
struggles with guidance and constant nurturing. They
celebrate our achievements as if they were their own. They
are the very embodiment of the “Givers Gain®” philosophy-in
other words, they are happy to give their time and effort
to help others because they know that by helping others
unselfishly, others will ultimately want to help them in
return.

Take a moment and tap into the feelings you have for your
mentors. If you’re like me, you feel a deep sense of
gratitude, respect, and admiration for them. If you could,
you would no doubt place them on a pedestal-not to mention
thank them for all their help. This relationship will stand
the test of time and distance. If a mentor called you today
and asked for a favor…

The Butterfly
By: Author Unknown

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small
opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for
several hours as it struggled to force its body through
that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any
progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it
could, and it could go no further.

So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair
of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.

The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen
body and small, shriveled wings.

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he
expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and
expand to be able to support the body, which would contract
in time.

Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of
its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled
wings. It never was able to fly.

What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not
understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle
required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening
were God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the
butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for
flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives.
If allowed to go through our lives without any obstacles,
it would cripple us. We could never fly! Our struggles give
us stronger wings.

If you’re looking for the cleanest drinking water, you’ll

best way to control your health, wealth, happiness and

Empowering You!

What you desire, what you want, you visualize. You feel
strongly about it, and you make it manifest because your
envision it. What you envision becomes reality.

You may be wondering how this can be when negative
situations and people have appeared in your life and some
things have not gone the way you would like them to go. You
want riches, great relationships but have financial
struggles and rocky or non-existent relationships However,
it is YOU who brought this into being; it is you who is in

What next? Answer: Take action — The who, why, how, when,

By: Mary Kay Morgan

While all the buzz in the last several years around the
Law of Attraction has been for the most part positive,
often a student is left with the idea that all one must
“do” is visualize their desire and it will arrive at their
door adorned with a big red bow. Even those who recognize
that they must “do” something other than sit in meditation
all day if they want to manifest their dream into physical
form, can become stuck when it comes to taking aligned
action becoming either completely paralyzed by fear or
reverting to a most unattractive system of working very,
very hard to get what they want.

There are 4 essential steps to manifesting your vision and
potential into see it, touch it, live it physical
reality…

Eric Lofholm - Simple Principles of Influence

ERIC LOFHOLM: I realized I was gifted in re-teaching Dr.

three years, and then 10 years ago I branched off and

CHRIS ATTWOOD: It seems like every one of us is in the
position of having to sell things. I’m going to ask you
about that in a minute, but before we go on, you went
quickly over your time with Tony Robbins.
I think when this interview comes out, Tony will have just
been featured the previous month on our cover.

I wonder if you would talk a little bit about what it was
like working in the Tony Robbins organization and working
for him. Did you learn new things that were valuable and
useful in that experience, as well?

ERIC LOFHOLM: Yes…

Perspectives
By: Author Unknown

One day a father and his rich family took his young son on
a trip to the country with the firm purpose to show him how
poor people can be. They spent a day and a night in the
farm of a very poor family. When they got back from their
trip the father asked his son, “How was the trip?”

“Very good, Dad!”

“Did you see how poor people can be?” the father asked.

“Yeah!”

“And what did you learn?”

The son answered, “I saw that we have a dog at home, and
they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle
of the garden, they have a creek that has no end. We have
imported lamps in the garden, they have the stars. Our
patio reaches to the front yard, they have a whole horizon.”

When the little boy was finished, his father was
speechless.

His son added, “Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we
are!”

Isn’t it true that it all depends on the way you look at
things? If you have love, friends, family, health, good
humor and a positive attitude toward life, you’ve got
everything!

You can’t buy any of these things. You can have all the
material possessions you can imagine, provisions for the
future, etc., but if you are poor of spirit, you have
nothing!

From sweepstakes to lucky draws to game shows, Helene
Hadsell has won every contest she’s ever entered - for
over 50 years. But instead of chalking it all up to a VERY
lucky winning streak, this 83-year-old ‘Winning Sage’
attributes her endless victory to a “4-Step Secret” that
has helped her not only win countless prizes, but also
manifest her every desire, and even cheat death. And now,
decades after publishing a sold-out bestselling book,
she’s coming out of retirement one more time to share this
4-step secret and more with a world reeling from economic
recessions and
uncertainties.

The NEW May Issue Is Live!

Scott Hamilton - One Person Can Make All the Difference
By: Chris Attwood and Vishen Lakhiani

SCOTT HAMILTON: It was an amazing set of circumstances. If
Dr. Sam Cooper hadn’t pushed through this funding proposal
at Bowling Green State University to have a hockey team and
skating classes, they never would have built the skating
rink. Then what? Then where would I be? One decision, one
man, one person, one here, one there; it’s amazing the
effect that people have on other people.

VISHEN LAKHIANI: Now that you’ve reached the pinnacle of
success in skating, what are you up to? What does one do
after they’ve achieved the heights you’ve achieved?

SCOTT HAMILTON: I’m still trying to figure out what I’m
going to be when I grow up! I’ve decided…

Staying Committed and Keeping That Spark Alive!
By: Jackie Black

Couples are demanding more intimacy and insisting on
supporting each other to live their best “individual”
life. At the same time, contemporary partners are
committed to co-creating deeply meaningful relationships
that provide:

* Safe havens to be one’s most vulnerable self;

* Openness to the most sacred feelings shared with another

* Connections defined by joy and the hopes of a future
that will be a lasting testament of their love and
commitment.

A big challenge for partners today in committing to
another person is…

Tips to Make Every Day a Good Day
By: John Carpenter Dealey

What you think about, you really do bring about. If you
are not totally living the life of your dreams, maybe it’s
time to pay closer attention to your predominant thoughts
each day.

This is a good time of year to run an ‘attitude check’.
The bills keep rolling in, the weather is changing, the
economy could be better, the traffic couldn’t be worse -
or could it? It’s easy to slip into worrying, frustration,
complaining or even depression.

The good news is that you can choose to have a good
attitude in spite of unpleasant or unexpected things. This
process begins with a decision to…

The Right Question
By: Joseph B. Walker

There were a thousand reasons not to stop. I was running
late for a Very Important… well, whatever it was that I
was running late for that day. The freeway was busy — I
might have caused an accident or something. Surely the
Highway Patrol would be along soon, and it’s their job to
help stranded motorists, isn’t it? And I had on my navy blue
suit, with a light blue shirt and a silk tie. Not exactly
car-fixing clothes, you know?

Let’s see — that makes 1,004 reasons not to stop. And
here’s 1,005: I am the world’s worst auto mechanic. Public
enemy No. 1 on the AAA’s Ten Most Wanted list. Mr.
WhatsaWrench.

The first time I tried to change my car’s oil myself I did
fine — until I forgot to put the new oil in. The boys down
at the garage had a big laugh over that one. The next time,
I remembered to put in the new oil — only I put it in the
transmission. That triggered a letter from the Society for
the Prevention of Cruelty to Chryslers. They suggested I get
a horse.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not feeling sorry for myself. God
has given me other talents to use for the benefit of
mankind. But I’m not sure how much it would have helped that
lady whom was stranded by the side of the freeway if I would
have pulled over and belched on cue. So I didn’t pull over.
I drove on by, just like hundreds of other drivers on the
freeway that day. And I felt guilty about it. So I turned
off at the next exit and made my way back to see if I could
at least give her a lift or something. But by the time I got
back to her, an Hispanic gentleman had pulled in behind her,
and was tinkering away at her car’s engine like he knew what
he was doing.

“Is there anything I can do to help?” I asked.

“No, thank you,” the lady replied. “This nice man says he
can fix it.” At that moment, a voice from under the hood
shouted: “OK, try it now!” The woman reached for the key and
turned it. The engine started beautifully.

“It was your serpentine belt,” the man explained, wiping his
hands on his pants. “It slipped off. It’s pretty worn. You
want to take that to a mechanic, get a new one put on.”

The woman tried to give the freeway Samaritan some money,
but he declined and waved as she drove off. It wasn’t until
we started walking toward our cars that I noticed he had
five more reasons not to stop than I did; his family was
sitting in the station wagon, waiting patiently. “Do you
stop and help people like this often?” I asked.

He shrugged. “Somebody has to,” he said. “What’s she going
to do if nobody helps?” And for him, that was reason enough.

In his final sermon, given the night before his
assassination, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. took as his text
the Biblical parable of the Good Samaritan. In the story, a
man is attacked by thieves and left by the roadside. Several
travelers happen upon him, but they pass by. Eventually,
someone does stop to help, although it is the one person who
might have had a reason not to. He is a Samaritan and the
victim is a Jew. Those folks didn’t get along any better
back then than they do now. According to Dr. King, those who
passed by the injured man were asking themselves the wrong
question: “If I help this man, what will happen to me?”

The Good Samaritan stopped to help because he asked the
right question: “If I don’t help this man, what will happen
to him?”

10 Workplace Motivation Commandments That All Leaders MUST
Follow
By: Roxanne Emmerich

Unmotivated employees have rightly been called “the black
holes of the business universe.” Fortunately, motivation is
not something a person is born with or without. Applying
these Ten Commandments can go a long way to helping existing
employees find their motivation.

1. Commit with all thy heart so others might follow

Before you ask your employees to commit, you must be fully
committed yourself as a manager and leader of your
organization. Throw your heart over the bar, make that
complete commitment and others will …

Do you really have a handle on the things that cost your

handle incidents? Do you know how to improve your bottom
