Please join us for the latest Real Life Legends Interview
with speaker, author and entrepreneur, Roxanne Emmerich.
Roxanne Emmerich is America’s most sought-after workplace
transformation expert. She is listed by Sales and Marketing
Management magazine as one of the 12 most requested
speakers in the country for her ability to transform
negative workplace performance and environments into “bring
it on” results-oriented cultures.
Roxanne’s new book “Thank God It’s Monday” reached and
maintained its position as #1 on Amazon’s business
bestseller list and made the Wall Street Journal’s
bestseller list - all in the first week of its release. As
President and CEO of the Emmerich Group, Inc. she has
consulted and spoken to most of the financial institutions
in the top one percent of performance. Roxanne was inducted
into the National Speaker Hall of Fame for her impact and
quantifiable effectiveness.
She has also published hundreds of articles in leading
publications on such topics as leadership for results,
employee engagement for bottom AND top-line improvement,
profit-rich growth strategies, and a multitude of other
workplace breakthrough issues.
A three-time Entrepreneur of the Year, Roxanne served
Wisconsin Governor Tommy Thompson as a key advisor on
reinventing state government and serves as Editor-In-Chief
of Extraordinary Banker® Magazine. She is in demand for
interviews by CNN, NPR, CBS, and other media outlets
nationwide for her proven ability to help workplaces get
unstuck and achieve radically improved results quickly.
Here’s some of what you’ll learn:
1) Why most people end up hating work and how to make
Monday your favorite day of the week
2) The one key change that has turned the most miserable
workers into the most successful and passionate.
3) How being unreasonable can lead to your best outcomes.
4) The secret that causes everyone to “get goosebumps on
their knees,” it’s so good.
5) What to do when you have a “boss from hell” (that’s
much more effective than telling him/her to go to hell).

Title: Arm In Arm
By: Author Unknown
A few years ago at the Seattle Special Olympics, nine
contestants, all physically or mentally disabled, assembled
at the starting line for the 100-yard dash. At the gun,
they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with a
relish to run the race to the finish and win.
All, that is, except one little boy who stumbled on the
asphalt, tumbled over a couple of times, and began to cry.
The other eight heard the boy cry. They slowed down and
looked back. Then they all turned around and went back.
Every one of them.
One girl with Down’s Syndrome bent down and kissed him and
said, “This will make it better.” Then all nine linked arms
and walked together to the finish line. Everyone in the
stadium stood and the cheering went on for several minutes.
People who were there are still telling the story. Why?
Because deep down we know this one thing: What matters in
this life is more than winning for ourselves. What matters
in this life is helping others win, even if it means
slowing down and changing our course.
Wouldn’t you love to enjoy success in all areas of your
life?

Moby - Find Success in Spite of Insecurities
By: Chris Attwood and James Ray
MOBY: I was never really happy with the circumstances in
which I was brought up. I grew up very poor in a really
wealthy town. I also really liked music because it had an
escapist element to it. There was a lot of shame and lot of
pretending that my circumstances were better than they
actually were. I liked music, especially music in the 20th
Century because it really celebrated disenfranchisement. It
was not a celebration of the status quo. If you think of
rock-and-roll, punk rock, and even hip hop, it’s usually
people who feel disenfranchised picking up a guitar, a
synthesizer or what have you, and expressing themselves
through music. Because I felt quite disenfranchised, I
really responded to that aspect of it.
JAMES RAY: When was it that you said, “I’m going to become
a musician?”

Reward Effort - Not Just Outcome
By: Michael Licenblat
People need to feel a sense of accomplishment for the
consistent effort they put in regardless of the outcome.
For example, if you need to contact 50 clients with
enthusiasm, your 47th call needs to emanate the same
enthusiasm as your first call did - even if you have faced
46 replies of ‘no’. This only is achieved if you are
feeling a sense of accomplishment just for making the calls
- regardless of the outcome.
Here are 2 ideas on rewarding effort…

The Midlife Opportunity (Part 1 of 4)
By: L. Barrett Powell
When you reach your late 30s and early 40s, you reach a
significant turning point in life where you are given the
opportunity to release the past and evolve further into
your own authentic self. We commonly call this a crisis.
However a crisis has two components - chaos AND
opportunity. Viewing midlife as an opportunity is the key
to thriving and making it a successful time of life. Having
completed your entrance into adulthood at ages 28-30, you
are now looking at your midlife opportunity, which is
hallmarked by four significant transitions. For each person
the specific phase can occur at different times than for
others.
The four transitions will take you through approximately
ages 36-45. They are…
